Effective Performance Management is the best and optimal way to ensure the success of a strategic intervention. To make this measurable, organisations should define the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that should be achieved to ensure the success of the defined Strategic Objectives as defined in the Strategic Plan. A KPI defines the activities/outcomes that the organisation / an employee needs to achieve to enable him / her to confirm to the organisation that the required actions have been completed. KPIs must be SMART, i.e. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-framed.

The Action Assist system facilitates a two-step process, i.e. the management of Organisational Performance followed by the management of Individual Performance. Organisational Performance Management focuses on the measurement of the achievement against the organisational KPIs included in the Strategic Plan (e.g. IDP) and cascaded down to the Annual Plan (e.g. SDBIP). Individual Performance Management focuses on the management of an Individual’s Performance and includes the building of individual Scorecards for each individual. Where applicable, the individual scorecards will include KPIs cascaded down form the Annual Plan.

The Individual Performance module facilitates the building, allocation, tracking, monitoring and reporting of performance indicators for the various levels of employees within the organisation. Management can build employee scorecards, trigger self-assessments, trigger a moderation process and trigger a final review and confirmation process at any time. The reporting function of this module provides filters that allow for the generation of customised reports that assist management with the management and tracking of individual performance.

The Personal Development Plan module is the “LIVE” personalised development/action plan prepared for individual employees for their specific development needs. The Personal Development Plans are action driven with specific actions assigned to the employee using the SMART principles, to ensure that their development actions are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-framed.
