Process: Redesign a policy

  • Obtain copies of the policies that need to be reviewed

  • Obtain copies of existing processes associated with the policies under review

  • Obtain copies of any relevant legislation or regulations

  • Understand the purpose of the specific organisation, division, department or business unit

  • Understand the purpose of the policy

  • Understand the objectives of the policy

  • Assess the adequacy of the policy considering the above

  • Obtain buy-in for the changes from stakeholders

  • Formulate a draft policy

  • Agree action plans with stakeholders to implement the policy
